| Record View - this screen shows all information for the selected record. The top left will show the code you are viewing, below that will be information about the code. There is also a [Print Record] button located at the top of the screen, this will allow you (with the help of printing software) to print the current code, see section below.
In the example, the city name is shown below the airport code (AUS). The airport name is listed (with elevation in parentheses), then the state name (Code), and the location (distance from city center) (note: International field elevations are converted from meters to feet with rounding). The top right corner show the category for the code you are viewing.
| Search - You will see the "Find" dialog box when you click the Search button at the top of the main screen. This feature is used to perform a full-text search of the database.
For example: If you were looking for the information on Dallas you would enter "Dallas", click OK and see the results screen (see left). This field is NOT case-sensitive, so "Dallas" or "dallas" would give the same results. Find (Results Screen) - The lower box here is what you will see after you run the search. You will see a list of all codes that were found matching your criteria. Click on any code to view the details for that record. If there is more than one screen (10 records) of results then you will see a "Find More" button at the bottom of the screen. Note: version 2.1 now supports code and description filtering, if you are looking for the code AUS then you can select Locate Code... from the menu and enter AU and the code will be found (this field is case-sensative)
| The record screen now has an option ([ Print Record ]) to allow you to print terms from your handheld. In order for this feature to work you must download and install
PalmPrint or SCS Print Server (http://stevenscreek.com/palm) software on your handheld, once this software is installed then you should be able to use this feature. There are many configurations
that can be used, such as IR (recommended), Serial and PDA (Hotsync Connection) to PC. Refer to the Stevens Creek Software website and documentation on how to configure these options.
Note: If the software is NOT INSTALLED then when you click on the [ Print Record ] button nothing will happen. Note 2: You must register PalmPrint/SCS Print Server as a separate application, registering PAD does not entitle you to a registered copy of their software. |
