How do I configure iSilo for a Pocket PC Device?

After installing iSilo on your Pocket PC, there are a few recommended steps to configure the program to work best with our products.

1) When you first start iSilo you will see the Extensions dialog box.

You should select both the .pdb and .prc options, also you should click on the "Do not perform this check again" box. This will prevent this question from coming up everytime you start iSilo. Once done click on the Ok button (in upper right).

2) There are two documents (normally) installed along with iSilo. They are iSiloDisplaySample and iSiloManual. We recommend that you delete these documents.

To delete click on the document title and hold until the pop-up menu appears. Once the menu appears select Delete. Make sure you don't delete PalmPlates or eFAD2Go.

3) We also recommend that you hide the file extension, since it is really not needed and takes up extra screen space.

To hide the extension click on the Tools menu and Options ...

4) Next, click on the List tab and then disable (un-check) the Extension option. Once done click on the Ok button.Four
5) The screen should now look like this. Click on the eFAD2Go option (or PalmPlates) to open the database.Five
6) If you have not registered the iSilo viewer you will see the register box. If you have a key click on Register otherwise click on Ok to continue.

Note, you will receive a free iSilo license when you purchase eFAD or PalmPlates.

7) You will now see the keypad and toolbar (bottom). Click on the Tools menu and select the Options ... menu choice.Seven
8) Click on the UI tab and change the Tool bar option to Hide then select the option "Also set defaults".Eight
9) To make iSilo easier to use when flying we recommend that you configure the hardware buttons.

Click on the Button tab. Next, press a hardware button on your Pocket PC. To get started press the far-left button. Once you do this you will see Button 1 appear in the menu. Assign the Smaller font option to this button.

10) Press hardware Button 2 and assign to Larger font.Ten
11) Press hardware Button 3 and assign to Home.Eleven
12) Press hardware Button 4 and assign to Full screen. Click the Ok button to save your changes.Twelve

You have now configured iSilo for use with our products. You may find that other hardware button assignments and options work better for you but this is a good starting point for use.
