How do I set-up eFAD Mobile on my Palm?

This guide was written using a Treo 650, but will work the same on a Treo 600, Treo 700p and other Palm devices. Also, note that if you are using eFAD over your phone network a "Data Plan" may be required from your mobile phone company. Contact your wireless service provider (example: Verizon) and ask them about adding a data plan to your phone.

You must have a valid eFAD username and password before you can use eFAD (Mobile) on your Pocket PC device. eFAD Mobile refers to the wireless version of eFAD that has been optimized for Pocket PC and Palm devices.

1. Click on Web (this is located under the Main program group by default).Treo ...
2. Next, click on the Bookmarks button (located in the top right), see red box.Treo ...
3. Find an empty box that you can add a new bookmark to. Then click on the box to create a new bookmark.Treo ...
4. From inside of the "New Bookmark" screen.

a) give your Bookmark a Name: such as eFAD (Mobile) and a Description: such as eFAD Mobile.
b) Next, click on http:// inside of the URL: box.

5. Type the complete address for eFAD (Mobile) exactly like you see it here. Once done click on the OK button (located in the lower left of the screen).Treo ...
6. Click on the OK button again.Treo ...
7. Now your bookmark has been added to the Blazer browser (bookmarks section)!

Click on the icon (eFAD) that you just created to connect to the internet and start eFAD (Mobile).

8. Once connected eFAD will prompt you for your User Name: and Password. Enter both and click on the OK button.

Note: since the Blazer browser does not store (remember) passwords you will be required to enter your username and password each time. We can create a new shorter password and username to make this easier, see the Blog entry on changing your username and/or password.

9. Success, once you have logged in to eFAD (Mobile) you will see the screen to the right and you are ready to use eFAD on your PDA.Treo ...
