Change Log: eFAD 1.50 Published Apr 10, 2008 by Matthew Justice
eFAD 1.50 has several fixes and new features, see change log.
This release has a new Logbook, eFAD2Go U.S. Graphical selection map, one new weather graphic, BlackBerry fixes and several other enhancements.
1. eFAD Log ...
One of the most requested features we have had is to implement a pilot logbook into our program. For those who have asked, the feature is now here!
To get started just login to eFAD, click the Logbook link and enter your first logbook entry. You can also see your profile page, this page provides a section where you can configure your type of flying, such as VFR, IFR, or IFR-ATP and your initial hours. As we enhance the logbook the type of flying will limit the options you see on the pages. eFAD Log is free and will remain free, you will not need to have a subscription to access your logbook information. Also, eFAD Log will work on all platforms so you can view and enter flight information on your PDA, PC or other device.
We are going to be adding the following features over the next months, please let us know if you have any recommendations.
- Filtering System: display logbook records by date.
- Importing & Exporting: ability to import and export records to other systems.
- Charts: graphical pie & line charts for flight history.
- Holds & Approaches: IFR Holds and Approaches.
- IFR and Crew Logging: features to allow ATP pilots to log flight information.
2. Blackberry Enhancements ...
For all of our Blackberry users. We have fixed the formatting issues on some of the phones. So if you are using a Blackberry make sure you use the link http://www.pspda.com/ad/xml/index.html

Please Contact Us if you need assistance using these new features!
We are still seeking your opinion! What feature would you like to see implemented in eFAD?
How do I configure iSilo for a Palm OS Device? Published Mar 11, 2008 by Matthew Justice
After installing iSilo and eFAD2Go on your Palm OS device, there are a few recommended steps to configure the program to work best with our products.
1) When you first start iSilo you will probably see a "Trial Period" message, click OK.
Note: you will receive a complementary license key from us when you purchase an eFAD or PalmPlates subscription.
| 2) Next, click on the upper menu and select Options and Document Types .... | |
3) Choose the document types you wish to display.
We recommend that you choose the (highlighed) items shown to the right.
Once done click the OK button.
4) You will now be returned to the iSilo file listing menu (see image to right).
Click on the upper menu and select Options and Document List ...
5) Choose the "Document List Options" you wish to display.
Change Fields to Name/Size and change Settings to 25K.
Once done click the OK button.
| 6) Next, click on the upper menu again and choose Options and Font .... | |
7) Click on the dropdown menu for Size: and select Larger, plus check the box Also set as defaults to save changes for future databases.
Click on OK to save changes.
8) To make iSilo easier to use when flying we recommend that you configure the hardware buttons on your PDA.
To modify these buttons click again on the Options menu and select Button ...
9) Make sure the Button: option is set to Button 1 and change the Action: from Default to Larger font.
Don't Click OK. | |
10) Select hardware Button 2 and assign to Smaller font.
Don't Click OK. | |
11) Select hardware Button 3 and assign to Home.
Don't Click OK. | |
12) Select hardware Button 4 and assign to Full screen.
Once done click the OK button.
You have now configured iSilo for use with our products. You may find that other hardware button assignments and options work better for you but this is a good starting point for use.
